Egg allergy?

My 9 month old almost 10 had eggs for the first time today in the morning, and for her bath time I noticed she had a rash all over her back shoulders and down her shoulders, alittle on her thighs. That’s her only symptom! Are any of your babies allergic to eggs? What did you guys do?

My 9 month old just recently had scrambled eggs for the first time.  After a few hours, her face went puffy and rashes slowly broke out from her neck and all over her body. Her pediatrician advised us to administer Children’s Benadryl every 6 hours for the first 24-48 hours.  Also told us to hold off on eggs until she is 1 year old.

Yes, we ended up getting allergy testing done because we were having other issues we couldn’t figure out. My LO is allergic to what is usually referred to as stove top eggs, meaning he can have them in baked goods but not scrambled... has to do with the temperature they are cooked to. Egg hasn’t been hard to eliminate especially since he can have baked goods. Our dr. I recommended trying small amounts of things with baked in egg to see if there was a reaction, i think that’s the only way to know for sure. Definitely talk to your pediatrician and they’ll let you know what to do next 👍

Talk to your pediatrician stat. So many things have egg in it and make sure it is exactly that.

My daughters face got broke out.  Unless she starts having trouble breathing I would wait and call the ped Monday morning.  Mine just told me no more eggs until we met for her 9 months app, then he said no more until 18 months.  However, my particular baby can have stuff with egg in it, just not straight egg.

This happened to my boy. It was just out of the blue too! He had eaten eggs before without getting a rash. But that was his only symptom too. I just stopped giving him eggs for a while and reintroduced it later. After a year old he ate them fine.
