How long to wait to announce??

We are PREGNANT!!!  According to this app, I am 6weeks and 4 days.  I am concerned as to when we can safely share our news!  I know its usually after the first trimester.. 
How long did you all wait? 
Tricks to keeping in locked down until then?

I wish I had of told my family the happy news earlier...I miscarried and had to tell them while I was going through the miscarriage for their support...They had no idea I was even trying so I feel sad that my happy news got taken away. I say tell when you want to

My first pregnancy it was like 3 days after peeing on the stick. But it was Christmas Eve so I was excited. Lost the pregnancy 2 weeks later. 
Second pregnancy waited till after the first ultrasound at 6 weeks 5 days. 2 weeks later I lost it and found out the heart stopped a day after the ultrasound. 
My third pregnancy I waited till 14 weeks to tell family and 18 to publicly announce. I sadly went into early labor at 21 weeks. There's never a safe time in pregnancy. So do it whenever you feel like. 
Next time since we have to use a surrogate (I'm getting my tubes removed because my uterus can't support a full term pregnancy) my plan is to not tell anyone (as many family members too) until the baby is in my arms.

It's whenever you're ready. Personally after having two losses, it's easier to wait until you know everything is okay before you announce. But that's just how I feel, I like dealing with personal things alone and being unbothered. We announced at 16 weeks after the last doctor's appointment went great.

We told our family and a few close friends as soon as we got a positive, we were just too excited! Unfortunately it ended in miscarriage but it was good to have their support. Next time, we will wait till we have our first scan and see a heartbeat. If we can wait that long!

Scan which I ended up being 14 weeks!

I didn’t wait I was so excited the moment I found out everyone knew straight after😊 but it all depends how comfortable are you with telling people. Me on the other end I was way too excited to keep it in.

That’s something you have to decide for yourself. My mom, some good friends and close colleagues knew right after I got a positive test. My boyfriend told his mom (mostly because of practical reasons) and one or two colleagues right after too. 
I’ve been telling more colleagues the weeks after, since I wasn’t planning on lying or getting myself out of certain situations. Most of them see me everyday. Being sick and lying myself out of it when they would ask what’s wrong... no thanks. I’m an open book and really honest, so I just told them. My brother got the news after the first ultrasound at 9 weeks. He’ll be the godfather, so I wanted to show him ‘proof’, haha. The same day we went to my boyfriend’s family to tell his dad, brother and sisters. 
I wanted to talk about it, ask questions. Lying was not an option for me. The idea of secrecy annoyed the hell out of me. If something went wrong, I didn’t have to drop a bomb too. 
So yeah, it’s something very personal.
