Just got an IUD

I just went to the doctor yesterday to get my iud inserted and and I just want to know what it normal and what I should expect. It is now the morning after and I woke up at 4:30 am and took a warm shower cause I was cramping pretty badly. I took some ibuprofen and I feel a little better now. I am also concerned about when my boyfriend cones back from college, I saw some comments saying that he might feel/get cut by the strings. I’m so nervous!! Does anyone else have some experiences with these things?
