Do you generally believe the generation before you is more or less intelligent?

I’m just curious because I’ve heard mixed opinions on this. Some people believe the generation(s) that came before them are more intelligent due to having the wisdom and knowledge from having already gone through life and having experienced so much. Many people from older generations also know certain trades or specific skills that people just don’t learn anymore. On the other hand some people believe that older generations are less intelligent because overall education has improved over time making younger generations more likely to have more education, and science has also improved tremendously over time giving people more accurate information to work with that older generations may not necessarily know or keep up to date on. What do you think? In general is the generation that came before you more or less intelligent than the next?
