Help - Pedialax suppository for a 6 month old??

I have a call to her pediatrician- left a message hours ago and have yet to hear back. My six month led is really straining to go poop, and she didn’t sleep all night last night because of it. My husband just came home with pediatric lax suppository to try but the box says 2-4 years. Has anyone used this on a baby before? Trying to wait to hear back from her dr to ask but she’s suffering a lot and I hate to make her wait 😩

I would give her a little prune purée or apple juice first. Also sometimes using a windii or rectal thermometer can get things going

I would not use that unless the doctor approves it. First I would try giving the baby a couple of ounces of water or 100% fruit juice. Apple or prune should work.

Had to use one on my son that young - ped said to cut it in half lengthwise and crosswise to make it smaller and it was fine.  Worked like a charm!

I use milk of magnesium when my baby can’t poop and works great...get the one for children and read dosage
