Medicaid rant

So I have my daughter on Medicaid, applied for it when she was born or else she wouldn’t of had insurance and I don’t have a job that provides insurance and her dad doesn’t get full benefits until next year. I turned in the paperwork and was like okay she’ll have insurance soon, I can tell her doctor that she’ll be covered shortly. Well my paperwork ended up getting lost or something I don’t even know.😣 My daughter hasn’t had insurance this whole time! She’ll be 5 months on the 26th of this month. I went into the office and asked why she still wasn’t covered because at her last doctor appointment, they told me she still had no insurance. I had called Medicaid at her 2 week check up because she still wasn’t in the system, I called at her 2 month check up because she wasn’t in the system, and finally went in there after her 4 month check up to see what was going on. They could’ve told me that my case was closed so I could’ve reapplied a long time ago! All I got told was that it should be fixed soon. Then when I finally went into the office they told me some paperwork was missing, I was like that’s impossible, I turned everything in and made sure because I asked the lady if all documents and everything were there because I want to make sure she has insurance and everything was done right. She said yes and my daughter will be covered once everything gets processed. I made sure everything was turned in. I kept everything organized in the folder and also turned things in at the hospital when she was born. So now I have over $3000 worth of doctor bills because I didn’t know my daughter wasn’t covered and I just found out. They didn’t send me mail or anything. I had to go and find out for myself. They said everything previously wouldn’t be covered so now I have all these bills to pay off and I just can’t do it. I’m in debt and stressed out. I’m just so bummed. She has an appointment Monday for a sick visit and hopefully things will be figured out.
