Toddler with feeding disorder - help
Hi everyone, I have been struggling with my baby’s feeding disorder since she was 3 months old - now she’s 21 months and it’s still a struggle. My daughter refused to breastfeed starting at 3 months and since then has never wanted to willingly eat or drink. Every day and every meal has been a struggle since then where we basically have to force-feed with her kicking and screaming. She’s seen many pediatricians, a specialist in child feeding disorders, an occupational therapist, a psychiatrist and is even followed at a renowned feeding clinic and yet nothing works. We’ve ruled out reflux with her doctors and any other potential physical reason. What we’re left with is a child who litterally does not feel hunger (ever). She is even on medication -cyproheptadine (appetite stimulant) and still the issue persists. She has been diagnosed with a feeding disorder but it seems like there isn’t much known about it and treatments are limited. No one and nothing seems to help and now daily life has become such a struggle that I feel so depressed and sick to my stomach with anxiety - family life is suffering and finding it hard to focus at work. Has anyone dealt with anything similar? If so, I would love some advice.
-sincerely,
A helpless mom
