Birth Control Opinions/Experiences
I just want to hear some of your experiences and what kind of birth control you use and prefer. I'm about 3wks postpartum and have a few weeks yet to decide, but I'm trying to weigh my options.
I've tried the pill before, but I was and still am awful at taking pills (frequently forgetting to take them). Before having my son, we relied solely on the pull out method and were successful for ~7yrs (our one time we slipped up resulted in my son, oops).
I've mostly bounced around the idea of getting Mirena, but I'm honestly kind of afraid of the risks. My doctor advocates strongly for Fertility Awareness Method. Withdrawal is still a contender as well.
I guess my questions are...
• Those of you who have/had an IUD: do you like it? If you had it removed, why? Did you/have you experienced any negative side effects with it?
• Those who practice FAM: how has it worked out for you?
• Everyone else: if you use a different kind of birth control, what do you use and do you recommend it?
TIA!
