Will they take away my son?

Please. I need help ASAP! If I call the police will they take my son?!?!? My sons dad & I don’t live together but he did hit me in front of my son. Will they take my son away because of that? Please help. I’m scared they will take him away bc o had him in an unsafe environment (my mom was coming to pick me up & had my son with her) will we be okay? 
I’m sorry for possibly spamming I’m just trying to make sure we will be okay.

Yes the cops might have to notify CPS but if you are protective and follow through with a restraining order and pressing charges and all that, there is no reason your kid would be removed. 
The best thing you can do to show you are protective IS to call the cops. You might not have been able to predict the abuse, but once it happened, it’s your duty to follow through with ensuring your kid is safe from that point on. So as long as you do that, you’ll be fine. 
So what I’m trying to say is: the best thing to do would be to call the cops.

I worked for family protective services. The best thing you can do is show that you’re being protective over your child. Press charges, leave him, etc. if you allow the behavior to continue, CPS May intervene

No they won’t take the baby. Just call the police on him and then you can get a restraining order. There are witnesses who saw what happened, so if they try to lie, you have some people on your side. Just stay calm and call the police.
