Elective induction????!

This coming Saturday I'll be 39 weeks and I have an appointment this Friday I wanted to ask my OB if it was okay to have a "Elective induction" my baby is great in the other hand I dont have anything medically wrong except that my lower back is killing me its really hard for me to do anything..... I wanted to ask what are your opinions on Elective induction? With my 1st daughter I had to be induced at 41 weeks because she wasn't moving and I dont want to go thru that scared again also I tried everything to try to go into labor by myself and nothing I even took the midwives brew  twice and I only had contractions for like 45 min then they stopped its really frustrating....

My dr is giving me the option to be induced at 39 weeks and I have decided to go for it :) no shame and doesn’t hurt to ask!

I was electively induced on the 8th at 39+2, my doctor recommended because I’m a FTM and studies show lower chances of csections and hypertension. But that mainly applies to FTMs. 
I think if your doctor says it’s a good idea and your cervix shows favorable then do it! 
We had a near perfect induction, I was only in labor 10 hours, pushed for 30 mins and went home the next day!

I chose elective induction my doctor offered it to me and we talked extensively on the pros and cons. My body is progressing well baby is engaged and among other things I have going on with my family we decided that is what would be best. I think it’s a choice between you and your care provider and you should not feel selfish or ashamed of either choice. As long as you and baby are happy and healthy that’s the best outcome.

Did it with my son at 38+5 and it was the best experience!! I’m doing it again today at 37+5 because I’m already a 4 and seriously can barely walk 😂 
My aunt is a respiratory therapist and says earlier babies (around 38 weeks) are less likely to have breathing issues and less likely to breath in meconium. So my whole family gets electively induced. All of our babies have been perfectly healthy ☺️

I personally would wait at least another week. If you could give your cervix more time to soften and make labor easier and let baby be more ready, why wouldn’t you.
