Anyone else have a super independent infant?!

I swear I have the least cuddly 5m/o!
Co-sleeping? Just leads to no-sleeping. She can’t even sleep if we’re in the room with her most of the time except for when we occasionally have to bounce through her last nap of the day to get to bedtime.
I used to think she wants to be held all the time... but in reality, she only wants to be held so she can be taken all over the place! You cannot sit still with her for long. She wants to GO.
She doesn’t like to be alone when she’s awake, but she just wants company, not so much assistance.
Sometimes I wish she were a little more cuddly, but I also appreciate her independence. I guess it’s good that she’s preparing me now for the day- definitely much sooner than later- she decides she’s officially too big for Momma to hold her anymore. So I‘m taking a moment to appreciate having to carry her all over the place all day long!
Who else has a very independent infant?

Reading your post, I feel like I'm looking two months into my future... my 3 month old baby girl is the same way. There's no rocking her to sleep, she just wants to be put down. And heaven forbid you sit somewhere and be still with her during the day! She either wants to wiggle on her play mat or be part of the action, looking around while I carry her (upright!). I thought babies were supposed to be cuddly for longer 😭😭

Wants to be held so she can be taken all over the place” Yup! My little guy loves facing out, being able to grab stuff, and examining things on his own. Of course he still needs me, and cuddles up for food and naps, but he’s getting squirmy. Seems he can’t wait until he figures out how to get around by crawling or rolling.

My first was like that. Lulled us into a false sense of security that our second would sleep just as long and easily...she’s a super cuddle bug and usually screams when we put her down. And he finally wants more affection, but on his terms. For instance, he’ll now sit on my lap on Saturday mornings and watch YouTube music, but if I try to hold him to tightly, he’s gone. In some ways I think it’s harder with that type of baby, because everything you read is cuddle, cuddle, hold, hold, smother them with love. But they don’t want that, and just frustrates them.
