Did you use onesie style shirts once you LO was in underwear ?

We are potty training & have switched to undies, but a big chunk of his shirts are onesie style. I don’t really want to go buy a whole new wardrobe, especially since who knows how much longer he’ll be in this size 🤦🏻‍♀️. It just seems like it’d be so inconvenient with the snaps... do others make it work, if so, please comment how.

Preschool teacher for 2-3 year olds here, if parents of kids who are potty training send the kids to school in those onesie shirts, we just unsnap them when the kid needs to go potty and leave them unsnapped. Sometimes they get tucked in; sometimes not. 
The kids need to be able to dress/undress themselves to really master potty training, but you don’t have to buy all new clothes. The kids certainly don’t care if the onsie ends are flopping around; they’re too busy having fun getting finger paint in their hair!

We stopped using those. And overalls.  Easy on, easy off clothes only for us.

the real question is how old is your child? my son is 20 months but was 18 months when he potty trained and I avoid shorts like that because I dont want to be bending over longer than I need to nor does he have the patience to wait lol.

We had the same problem. A bunch of new onesies but they were a hassle when potty breaks were frequent.. at first I just started snapping them on the side of her and rolling it up a little because she didn’t like walking around with them unsnapped and hanging. Then I just started letting her wear T-shirts’ instead for convenience. Now she only wears her snap onesies to sleep

I don’t snap the onesies anymore on my 1 1/2yr old he doesn’t like the feeling and personally it’s jut easier to tuck it in his pants. 
He’s potty training as well. He’ll actually pull his pants and pull-up down all by himself and stand in front of the potty chair and tinkle. So it’s very convenient for him and helps him be more independent.

I feel you should because it’s easier for them to go to the bathroom on their own and teaches them how to properly pull them up and down. My step daughter wore them for the longest and now at 5 years old she doesn’t know how to properly pull her underwear and shorts/pants up and down.

I stopped putting them on my kid once I put them in pull ups which with my oldest was a year and my middle potty trained at a year and never wore pull ups . My youngest is 8 months so probably right about a year I’ll stop using onesies unless it’s super cold out (he is a February baby . My other two were nov and dec babies but we didn’t have much need to go out in the cold then
