Why Is This?

Question

I’m on my period at the moment and something is itching me around the opening of my vagina. Has anyone else experienced itching during their period or knows why it happens? The first two days of my period, I wore tampons and they made me sore so I had to switch to pads. I still have the itching though.

I would stick with using pads. Only bc I know sometime tampons can irritate you and If the itching gets worst I would go to the doctor

It’s very normal to feel itchy before, during and after your period; I get the same and it can be quite uncomfortable 😣 reasons include hormones, dryness (which seems odd given all of the blood!) and thrush. Unless the symptoms persist after your period perhaps see your gyn/doctor as if it’s thrush it may need some treatment. Mine normally clears up on its own. Things to try to help include using menstrual cups or cotton-based pads
