Would you be upset!?

My grandpa is potentially dying in the hospital, I’ve been there all day. I had to skip work and left my toddler at his other grandmas for the day. I’ve called my husband multiple times and couldn’t get ahold of him- he was working, BUT he never calls back. I finally got ahold of him asking if he’d like to come visit my grandpa that he’s not doing well,  and I’m starving and his response was “ I’m so cold, and tired from work. I need a shower. I’m just going home. Maybe tomorrow” I just said k cya later. I’ve been crying and upset and now I don’t even have his support. I ended up going to get something to eat alone and trying to hold back my tears.

Well, it seems like you wanted him to be there (with food). Why didn’t you just ask? You could’ve told him you wanted him there and that you would appreciate it if he brings food. It may sound insensitive now, but he did nothing wrong actually... He was just honest.

Men are horrible at understanding what we actually want. You need to tell him that you want him there not ask him if he is coming. I find when it comes to the bond your SO has with your parents it can be a close one depending on how long you have been together but I don’t think the bond with a grandparent is the same for them

A lot of people are saying that you should be more straightforward with your man. But in this situation I don’t think you should have had to ask him to be there for you. I agree men can unintentionally be insensitive but I would be hurt just like you. Especially if it were my grandpa. I was so close to him and it was devastating when he passed. I’m so sorry and your family is in my prayers.

I can understand that your husband just wants to go home. You could have asked him to bring you food or you could have gone down to the cafeteria and gotten food. Most cafeterias have sandwiches and all kinds of things. 
Your husband did nothing wrong. He just wanted to rest and be warm after a hard days work and that’s perfectly ok.

Men need you to be more straight forward with what you want. Asking him if he wants to is not enough. I’m sorry about your grandpa!  Call your husband and ask him to come by because you need his support and he may never get to see your grandpa again.
