Are you on Metformin?

Question

DH and I have been ttc naturally for 15 months. We just had our first pregnancy but it ended in a MC and I'm seeing a fertility doc next week.  Because of my PCOS, I'm curious if she would want me to get on Metformin..??

​ My hormonal levels are fine though, so would she probably just go straight to Clomid to induce ovulation?? I haven't ovulated on my own very well

​If you have PCOS and normal hormone levels, are you on Metformin for any reason??

I was put on Metformin a few years ago along with a few other meds. The doc was trying to be preemptive and threw every med at me that's been used to treat PCOS although I didn't have high bp, my sugar lvls were perfect and my hormones were all normal. That pearl necklace of cysts were definitely there, and I had always had irregular periods, so she tried to be preemptive.

​However,  Metformin (and the combo of other meds) made me extremely sick. I haven't taken anything at all in years & haven't had an issue with my PCOS in just as many years. My periods have become regular & all of my lvls are normal.

​I'd say just do some research. If you don't NEED it, why put it in your body?
