What is the best formula?

*Before I get lectured on how breastfeeding is best, you should know that my husband and I are adopting, therefore I cannot breastfeed. 
I will be a first time mom and I have always thought I would breastfeed so I never gave much thought into formula. We want to buy in bulk to prepare for our little one but obviously we don't know if they will have any allergies or sensitivities. What is the safest bet for a newborn? Thanks in advance!

Get samples of different formula as there is no best. It all depends on what the baby handles best. My son tolerated similac only. 
Also as an fyi there is a such thing as inducing lactation that is pretty popular for people that arent bio moms.

My babies loved parents choice. It’s honestly all the same. Don’t break the bank unless your kid has to have expensive formula.

Sign up for ‘strong moms’ club with similac and w/e enfimil calls their club. They’ll send you samples and coupons. Also ask your pediatrician - they might give you some sample cans.

I just wanted to let you know that there are ways to help yourself start producing milk for your baby even tho you are adopting. I had a friend do it. :)

Have you thought about using a Supplimental Nursing System? My aunt used one when she adopted her son. You can use formula or donor milk with it.

We use HIPP and order from Europe. Unfortunately Canadian and American brands, even the organic ones, usually have have corn syrup, soy, and/or allow for pesticides and we really just didn't want that for our son. When we started him on HIPP we noticed a huge difference in his sleep, poop, eating schedule, and development, and it was all very positive. If you can't order from Europe or don't want to, I would talk to your doctor, they might have samples for you to use before you decide.

My baby drinks Similac Pro Advance.  
Also wanted to say that even if you weren't adopting, how you feed your baby is your choice.  You have to do what's best for YOUR family.  FED is best.

I wouldn’t buy in bulk just yet because you never know what your baby will like or if he or she is allergic to that brand:) but we used enfamil with my son and it was amazing!!

I wouldn’t be buying in bulk either, just because you don’t know how baby will react. We went from Similac to Enfamil regular, then Enfamil gentlease, Enfamil A+R, to finally Enfamil Reguline. It might take a while to figure out what works best for your baby and formula is too expensive to throw away ;)

I used the Costco brand. The price is great and my son never had any issues with is. I do think it is milk based, so it wouldn't work for a baby with a milk allergy.
