3 week old not sleeping well?

He grunts and groans all the time. I feel like there no peaceful sleep. And it keeps me up because I hear him groaning all the time. The doctor wasn’t concerned but I don’t think this is normal! 
Occasionally he’ll take a fuss free map that’s 3 hrs long. But he’s up constantly at night time. And I’m about to lose my mind. I’m so tired. I have a 3 year old to watch too!

Not unusual at all. Babies spend majority of their sleep in REM sleep which is when most movement/noises occur. As their sleep cycles regulate during the first year of life, they’ll get less and less noisy. It can suck when they’re so loud it’s disruptive, but it’s normal and temporary.

Babies can actually cry in their sleep too. Totally normal. Hang in there mama!

My little guy is an insanely loud sleeper in his crib. He's in his own room, and I had to turn the monitor down a bit. I can still hear him (I can actually hear him from across the hall with the door open) but at least every sound isn't magnified, LOL!

Mine is noisy when he didn’t get a good burp out (not for lack of trying!) ...so far an hour of his sleep, he’s grunting and moving a lot. Also around 6am he starts working on pooping which involves a lot grunting, so that’s another thing he’s trying to do in his sleep.
I’ve seen a few posts here talking about noisy sleeping babies. I don’t think it’s unusual, but it is tough to try to sleep next to.
