Cord wrapped around neck?

So I had an ultrasound and the tech told me that the cord was behind the neck not yet wrapped around it. However if it were to get around my sweet babies neck my only question is. Can I still deliver him naturally? Is it still safe for me and baby?

A lot of babies are delivered safely with the cord around their neck. They get their oxygen from the cord so when they are born they just unwrap the cord then baby can breathe normally.

The cord was around my neck when I was a baby and because of that I was breached. I could not turn even with the help of my mothers doctor so I had to be delivered by c-section.

It really depends. If the cord is wrapped and the baby’s heart rate becomes a concern with each contraction, a c-section could be warranted. But doctors deliver babies all the time vaginally when the cord is around the neck. I was born with the cord around my neck wrapped twice. But i was born so fast there wasn’t any time to even monitor my me through my moms belly. I was born within 45 minutes of my moms water breaking. By the time she got to the hospital, she was already crowning and then I came like 10-15 minutes later.
