Is 17 weeks far enough?

I just scheduled our gender ultrasound but I’ll be 17 weeks by then. They say if they can’t find anything then they’ll do a free follow up to try again. But I just want to know how many of you have had it at 17 weeks or even earlier and been able to 100% see the gender? I feel like I see a lot of women on here get it at 20+ weeks or do the blood test.

Thanks everyone!! That makes me feel a lot better. We really want to do a thanksgiving gender reveal but I was second guessing everything and thought we should wait. Hopefully baby cooperates and we can see right away! The place we are doing it at is a private ultrasound tech and they do their gender ultrasounds between 16-28 weeks. I hope everything goes well 😊

Got mine done at 15 weeks and something days and you could see his private parts very well!!!!

We found out with my nephew at 16 weeks. They did the ultrasound because his mom was experiencing an abnormal amount of pain.
They said they weren’t sure, but it was super clear that he was a boy!
It was confirmed at 20 weeks.
I guess it could just depend on if baby is cooperative and how old their machine is 🤷🏼‍♀️

mine was able to be seen at 12w4d but i elected not to know! i think you should be fine!

I found out the gender of my first at 17 weeks. The private scan places in my area do them at 16 weeks. They should be able to tell.

I was told to do weeks 18-22 by my doctor. I did get the blood test so I already know but I’ll be 19+3 when I get mine.

We saw pretty clearly at 16 weeks. Haven’t had the 20 week one yet though so we’ll see if she was wrong!
