Anyone else not taking their kids trick o treating?

My sons is about to be 2. I just dont see myself taking him trick or treating. I feel like hes too small and i know the candy is technically for us 🤣 and i dont want to waste money on a costume 🤭  i think im just gonna give him a “spooky basket” with maybe some toys and some veggie sticks, food pouches etc. It has rained for the past 5 years on Halloween 🤧

My son has fun. It gets us out of the house 🤷 going to several trunk or treat this weekend and most likely trick or treating on Halloween. He will be 3 in November.

I didn’t take my daughter until she was 4.  Before that’s just didn’t seem worth it to me.

Have you checked at the local malls for trick or treating events? I go during the day indoors at the mall. Noboday is cold or wet and it was great for my 2 year old.

My 2 year olds live dgetting iut and seeing the decorations and all the other kids dressed up. Didnt care about the candy, so we only asked like 5 houses Before turning it into just a fun walk.

We did fun activities on Halloween instead of trick or treating for the first couple years. They had parades and fall festivals and stuff that we participated in. 
And for costumes: second hand all the way!!! I love once upon a child. I got a costume there for my kid for $8. And then I went to goodwill and got another (for next year) for like 50 cents!!
We do Halloween because I love Halloween, but I’ve seen plenty of people just doing Halloween baskets like Easter baskets kind of. 
Do whatever works for you. Because once your kid gets older and has a preference, you might not have as much say in what you end up doing. Lol

I have a 2 year old daughter and a 1 year old son. Last year I handmade her costume and we went out on Halloween night for maybe an hour or so. She loved being able walk around (usually stuck in the stroller on walks) and seeing all the other kids dressed up. She wasn’t a huge fan on the candy so after a couple houses we just walked with friends instead of asking for candy. My son was maybe 3 months at the time so we just put him in a “bear suit” as we called it lol so he was warm. This year we’re dressing them up in coordinating costumes and plan on letting them get candy until they lose interest.

My daughter is 2 years and 4 months and I am not taking her trick or treat. She has never had candy and I hope I can keep it this way until she is 4 but I did buy her a costume and I will take pics of her and her 4 month old brother. Also I bought a ton of candy for the neighborhood kids so my daughter can give them some.

When my son was 2 we took him trick or treating and he LOVED looking at pumpkins and other kids costumes.. he saw paw patrol characters and loved it.. he was meh about the candy.. he probably had 2 pieces of what we got walking around.. it was a lot of fun for us :) this year more so since we will be having a block party in addition to trick-or-treating

I didn’t take my son trick or treating when he was 2. Now he is 3, and we are going to test it out this year in our neighborhood and 2 others if he can handle it. 
We will also do trick or treating in our home where we hide new toys and some candy.

Not a bad idea. Nothing wrong with it. And he’s at least getting snacks out of it. My daughter won’t be two until March, but I’m going so I can have the candy 😇 lol.
