How is the vagina supposed to feel?

So, I’m almost an adult and I’ve never gone to the gynaecologist… yeah, I know it’s bad, but I have reasons why that I won’t go into. But because of that, I don’t know if I’m “normal.” In books and stuff, it always talks about the vagina like it’s soft and squishy, but mine isn’t. Is that okay, or am I messed up? Health classes never talked about that kind of thing, and there’s not really anyone I can ask.
