Relationship Advice please

Well my boyfriend and I have been dating for 8 months next month. We have yet to say "I love you." I know I love him, and by now i feel as if a person would know if they feel deeply for the other person or not. So is it normal that he has not said that to me yet? Secondly, yesterday we got into an argument. I will go out of my way to help clean his house, but him little gifts, rub his body of hes sore and etc. He never just does things spontaneously for me. The only time he got me a gift was my birthday after we had been dating for two months. Thirdly he refuses to let me take part in his gaming. I game as well, but he always has excuses as to why we cant share gaming and enjoy it together. It feels like he wants to keep that part of his life and me separate entirely. I have also had to ask him to spend more time with me during our relationship. He is 27, works hard, and is a very heavy gamer. Keep in mind the problems are the negative part of our relationship I'm dealing with and am struggling with. I guess at this point I'm wondering if I should stick our relationship out or call it quits. I love him, but I dont know where to go or what to do from here. Some advice would be appreciated because I dont have anyone to talk to about this type of thing.
