Period underwear, thoughts?

Just a question.... Would period underwear, thinkx or similar type things, help postpartum instead of having a heavy pad? Or does is reduce you ability to monitor how much you are still bleeding, or if there may be a problem? I have been thinking about getting a few pairs if they would be beneficial? Any thoughts or people who may have tried this?

I just got adult diapers. Idk how those underwear work exactly, but you’ll want to switch out diapers/pads/whatever a few times a day even if it’s not completely full to keep the area clean. I think you would need too many pairs of the underwear or it’d be a daily load of laundry. They also don’t look to be enough coverage of the area either.

Ive not tried period underwear but I did buy a pack of adult diapers and some super large pads because as a FTM I didn’t know how much bleeding to expect.
The bleeding itself wasn’t actually as bad as I thought (maybe 3-4 days before it settled a little). But after an episiotomy boy did I appreciate my purchases they made me soo much more comfortable to sit down because I had so much padding on - I put the pad inside the diaper.
They were a god send, maybe a bit much to look at but I definitely appreciated the comfort in the days after delivery. Better yet I would soak the pad in witch hazel and refrigerate it before use, this helped too x
