Just need to vent, pumpkin problems

My SO and I have a 10 month old and I love Halloween so I was going to have him paint his handprints on a pumpkin. Well I bought the pumpkin and the kid safe finger paint and got everything set up so it wouldn't get everywhere and then my SO decided to throw a fit. Its gonna make such a mess, he's gonna eat it, its gonna take so long to clean. Why not say something when I said we were going to buy pumpkins and paint? Why not say something before I taped paper to the table? Why not say something before I opened the pints and changed our son? I'm so pissed. I just wanted to do something fun as a family and his negative ass had to ruin it. My son is 10 months everything he does makes a mess and I was going to clean him!
