Had our son!
After a 10 and a half hour labor and several close calls I was scheduled an inducement and then was rescheduled twice so on the day of my inducement I woke up violently ill throwing up and shaking...this caused us to be late for our original scheduled time of a 7am inducement. So after throwing up for an hour and a half, finally managed to get to the hospital. Still throwing up but not near as hard, when we arrived to the OB floor the head OB nurse was skeptical about us continuing with the inducement especially if I was sick with some sort of virus. After much debate and a pep talk from my Mom I made the decision to stay. So they got me all hooked up to monitors and got me started on an IV of fluids since I was extremely dehydrated...from throwing up...and as they were ordering the Pencilin to be started my water broke on its own. The doctor was planning on breaking it at noon anyway. So even if we had gone home, we would have ended up coming right back when my water broke. Talk about irony. So things really started moving contractions were getting stronger but I was still only dilated 3 cm so doctor ordered Pitocin to speed things along. At next check I was still only 4 and a half centimeters...so after getting the epidural which was a Godsend; I was put into different positions to try and encourage the baby to drop lower into my pelvis...they worked at next check I was seven centimeters and feeling more pressure than anything...finally doctor checked me and I was nine and a half centimeters, I was so emotional about everything and before I knew what was happening it was time to push. So after an exhausting 20 minutes of pushing, at 6:04pm on October 21, our son was born. Weighing 7lbs 14 oz and 19.5in long, Alexander James is here! He's now a week old! Time is already flying by.

We are so blessed.
