Tdap vaccine ?

My doctor just recommend to get this vaccine before 36 weeks ( currently 30) is anyone else planning to get it or opting out ? And why ?

I have got it every pregnancy. A newborn cant get the vaccine until 2 months old so when you get it in pregnancy you pass some if the vaccine down to your newborn.

Yes, highly reccomend... lots of adults carry it without any symptoms and can pass it on to baby. Without the vaccine baby won't be protected.

I got DTap and Flu at the same time..

I am not a big fan of vaccines or shots but my twins will be premies and I definitely don’t want to the give them the flu or whooping cough so I’m getting both. Some NICU’s won’t even let you hold the baby if you haven’t had those shots b/c those illnesses are worse for the babies than adults. Plus my brother in law seems to get whooping cough each year and gave it to my mom once so I’ve told all of them to get heir shots if they want to be around my babies.

Honestly my doctor didn't even reccomend it when I was standing up to walk out of my visit he said "oh your not done yet your getting 2 shots today" and walked out and the nurse walked in with the shots. My brother was rushed to the hospital when he was 3 with whooping cough.

I will be getting the TDap but not the flu shot. Husband has had the tdap in the last 3 yrs from military so he doesn’t need it again. I’m also not making any family members get shots, they can if they want to.

I’ll be getting mine. I work in family medicine. I have seen little babies have to be transported to the hospital due to whooping cough. I wouldn’t want this for my little one.

Tdap is to prevent whooping cough in newborns. U ur significant other and anyone who plans to hold your baby should be immunized. Although we don’t have the disease we are active carriers kissing the baby can give it and whooping cough has become an increasing problem with newborn babies.
