6 year old drinking water???

Question

I tend to give my 6 year old step son water as a drink a lot.  At dinner he gets milk or juice but during the day mostly water. Sometimes I add a little flavor to the water. But my SO thinks I’m “treating him like an orphan”. Apparently I’m a shitty person for only giving him water after he spends his day running around and sweating? What’s your guys opinion on this???

Humans NEED water! That includes children... Juice is not good for children, milk is okay, but they need water!

Literally all my mom gave us was water except once a day we would get some milk or juice. I love water. What’s so bad about water why would that make someone an orphan ??

My husband is a dentist, my kid generally only drinks water (1/2 time infused with fruit or lemon). Sometimes she drinks milk or Greek yogurt smoothie, rarely juice and on very special occasions as a treat a mini slushy or milkshake. But 85% of the time it’s water. There’s nothing wrong with giving your kid water

Kids need water, this is the best thing you could be doing for him! He’ll think when he’s older with nice healthy teeth, too 😁 my husband is about to be a licensed dental hygienist so we’ll definitely do water more than anything else, for more than just oral health reasons.

My almost 4yr old only has water. Sometimes with cranberry juice. But 99% of the time plain water.
Best thing for them, why encourage them to only want sweet drinks that aren't good for them?

Juice is nothing but empty calories. It's horrible for teeth. Cows milk is horrible for digestion. WTF is he even talking about. Most doctors and dentist push water.

Honestly water is the best thing to give so absolutely not. I personally will not be giving my daughter juice anytime soon. She is only 2 though lol. But she will not have it om a mormal basis once she is older.
