Is it ok?

So I'm 13, and I just can't see myself having biological children. Ive got a slew of health problems and a baby would not help. If I did have a chold, I would adopt an older boy. My little sister (9) is practically training herself to be a mother, and she always wants me to do it with her. I feeI weird because I'm the only girl in my family who wants to adopt, especially an older child. Is it ok that I have no desire to have biological kids?

That’s totally fine!  My best friend has been in a 10 year relationship and everyone expects them to have kids. Nope, she doesn’t want them, and she has her reasons. They are valid. Not every woman has to become a mother, and adopting or fostering is an amazing choice.

It’s totally fine to never want kids. But also remember you’re only 13. You change so much as you grow up and mature.
I hated kids and never wanted to be a mother until I was 24 years old.
I’m 29 now and a totally different person than I was when I was  a teenager.
My husband and I are planning on trying for a baby next year.

It’s absolutely okay to not want any biological children. You MIGHT change your mind one day, and you might not.  In the end it is your choice. Childbirth isn’t for everyone and that’s fine. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with choosing to adopt, there are so many children out there that need loving homes. My boyfriend and I want to have a couple biological kids and then foster/adopt some. I’d like to foster/adopt as many as I can, to give as many kids a safe and loving home as I can. But that’s me personally. You can decide you don’t want to birth or adopt any, that’s okay too. No one has the right to tell you you’re wrong.

I can say when I was your age, I’m 27 now, I felt the same way. I still do as a matter of fact. 
At the moment I don’t want kids. There’s no need to rush. I’ve always seen myself adopting a kid and not having any biologically. Yes you might change your mind since you’re still so young. But you may stay the same like I did and there’s nothing wrong with it.

It's fine! Honestly you sound really mature to have already considered these things. My partner and I have quite the list of health conditions between us which is a big reason why we won't be having children. 
And you can reassure your sister that you will still be mothers together, you'll just be going about getting your child in a different way to her 😊

It's ok. I've never had the desire for biological children. I think some people just don't, and I think that's amazing, because I want kids to get adopted into loving homes! My mom was adopted, in fact, which might be part of why I have a lot of respect for people who want to adopt.

It’s most definitely fine. Like others said, you might or might not change your mind later on in life. However, it really doesn’t matter. I find it wonderful that you want to adopt when you’re older. You can offer a loving home to a child who desperately needs it that way. Whether you decide to have biological children or adopt, I can tell you have a potentially bright future ahead of you. You’re a mature girl for your age!🌹😊
