Shaving tips please ..?

I’m 17 and gonna be 18 in a month. I’ve always wanted to shave my area but I’m scared. I’ve watched YouTube videos, asked some friends, and I’m still so nervous . I was wondering if I could turn to you guys for some help. 
What are some of the things you guys do when you shave down there to ease the itching? What are some of the steps you take ? Help !

Get a really good razor. One with 3 or more blades. I use a shaving gel, it helps me with the itching. Don't shave to close together or it will cause red itching bumps.

I use a dollar tree razor or some men razors & i shave the way the hair grows. i Never shave the opposite direction. It doesn't give me a Very smooth feeling, but atleast there's not ingrown hairs or razor bumps.

I hate shaving with a passion, so I use a trimmer to get it all short then nair it.
The trimmer I use is veet sensitive precision.
