Cold sore and newborn
I gave birth to a healthy baby girl a little over a week ago. Yesterday I was loving all over her like I always do (kissing her little cheeks, hands, head, and mouth) when I noticed I was getting a tingling feeling on my lip. I obviously stopped kissing her after I felt the tingling sensation but now I’m freaking out that it could be a cold sore forming. I had my husband look at my lip and neither of us could determine if my lip is just really chapped or if it’s the start of a cold sore forming. It looks pretty much the same today as it did yesterday. I should also mention that I’m on a suppressive daily Valtrex meds so if it is a cold sore I’ve been on medicine since the day she was born. Should I call her pediatrician today and give them a heads up or wait and see if an actual blister starts to form?
