Rude OR crazy?

Me and my ex decided to take space from each other. We are good friends besides the romantic part of our relationship and we have a great bond so we are still “friends” and wanted to kind of see if we could just “start over”. I was the one who hurt him. I didn’t cheat or anything but it was more of “neglecting him emotionally”. He wants EVERYTHING now to be on HIS TERMS ONLY. for example, I try to text/call him every once in a while for just casual conversation because we don’t have any bad blood between the two of us. But he doesn’t answer my text until like a day of two later. My calls he won’t answer. Or he will text call me the next day or two or just not at all. This annoys me so I start to get mad at him. His response is that he is not obligated to talk to me because we are just “friends” now. He says he will call me back when he wants to call me back that’s it. I feel like this is rude of him. My other friend thinks I’m just crazy because I won’t let him call me when he feels like it. So, is he RUDE or am I CRAZY?!
