1st appt questio/ insurance

Hello. Ok, so I am currently 4 weeks pregnant (give or take) and I do have insurance but my deductible is so high right now. I opted for better coverage but my new insurance won’t take effect til January. I guess my question is, do I HAVE to have my 8 week appt? Would they bill me now or could I wait it out until January? I should be about 12 weeks then but I know they like to check on you earlier to make sure baby is ok.
