Insurance Coverage
Hi all!
I’m new to this and have some questions regarding insurance and infertility treatment. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated!
I’ve been trying to conceive for just over a year and a half and recently started getting different testing done. I noticed that my insurance isn’t covering any of the testing (which I’ve heard is normal), but is negotiating with the hospital about pricing (saying that I can only be charged x amount).
I live in MA and insurance here is required to cover infertility treatment. However, the company my husband works for (which we have our insurance through) incorporated in Florida a couple of years ago for tax purposes and I’m worried that might affect my coverage. Does anyone have any similar experiences?
As a note, we have Tufts HMO which is a MA based insurance company.
And a follow up question in case things aren’t covered: does my yearly out-of-pocket maximum still apply in this case?
I haven’t been told what the next step is, but I have high FSH (11.7) and I’m waiting on my AMH results, so I’m worried IVF is in our future.
I know I have to call my insurance company, but I’d rather wait until I know what’s next for us before doing so. Any insight you could give is appreciated!
