Should I wait or move on?

Me and my boyfriend made a year on the 31st of October. I began to notice that he would make more time to go to parties, and just want to sit in his room with me all day. I wasn’t hard on him because he’s been trying to pay rent without having a job (his parents won’t help him either). But we got into an argument twice over the party situation and then he texted me out of the blue saying that he doesn’t want to be with me anymore because of how much we argue & he feels as though he can’t make me happy. I was deeply saddened by the fact that he would be ready to walk away after two arguments, but I accepted the fact that I can’t make anyone stay. Then he told me to give him some time alone to handle some situations, he promised he be back for me, and that he wouldn’t sleep with anyone else during this time. I then gave him a time limit of two months, because I refuse to wait on someone forever. Now I’m confused on whether I should even wait on him or give him time to get himself together. I will feel like a fool if I wait for him and he never comes back around. At this point I’m tired of seeing the ugly side of love and wish I could move past the missing him stage. I need advice on what I should do, because I’m lost and nobody I know has any advice?
