Can you date while separated and going through a divorce?

My husband and I have been separated since April 27th 2019. We have filed for divorce and there is no fixing this. He was very verbally abuse during our 7 year marriage. He denies it to this day. He even talks to his parents disrespectfully and curses at them if he doesn’t want them doing anything he doesn’t like. 
I recently met another man I’m very much attracted to and we have great chemistry when talking to each other, I am afraid if I get into a relationship before the divorce is finalized I’ll be see in a bad light. 
What I’m asking is, can you date while going through a divorce? Is it wrong?

Yes, the divorce papers are in and there’s no chance of reconciling, I think you are good. Just don’t flaunt it until the divorce is final. 
Where I live it’s a no fault state (MA) so this wouldn’t matter either way

Personally I think as long as your clear with people your dating about your situation. 
Some people just won’t be ok with dating someone until that persons officially divorced, and it’s good to give them that option.
Other than that, I think as long as your sure your ready, then that’s all that matters....

Yes the papers have been filled and he’s in Miami and I live in a different city. He’s is constantly saying horrible things about me on social media but I never post anything or talk to him. 
I just want to be happy is all.

Ex husband kept dating his mistress after I left him. Moved in with her officially 10 months later. I started dating my husband 8 months after leaving my ex. We signed our separation agreement 3 months after I left. In Canada you can’t file until a year and 1 day passes since date of separation. I moved in with husband almost 12 months after leaving ex. Married him 2 years and 1 day after my escape from hell. 
I worked on myself in those 8 months. I didn’t think I would find someone I wanted to spend much time with let alone move in with or marry. I just wanted to be around people. 
I see nothing wrong. Others might take issue with the divorce not being final. I went out twice with a guy who was separated from his childhood sweetheart who kept cheating on him. He still wanted her back. He wouldn’t admit it but the way he light up when he spoke of her. 
After him I would only date divorced men. I was adamant about never going back to my ex. Trust me there was no love when I spoke of him only fear and disgust.
