102.2 fever

I’m a first time mom, and my son who is a 1 year old, has had an off and on fever today. He has had a runny nose since he got his 1 year immunizations. Which was on the 31st, but never ran a fever until today. I thought it was just the weather change too. I just gave him Tylenol, which helped this morning, but his temp was 102.2° a few minutes before the Tylenol. and I’m kinda freaking out. He has a stuffy nose, but is playing as he usually does. I can tell he doesn’t feel well though because the way he was calling for me. It breaks my heart seeing him sick. He’s only been sick once. Should I take him to the ER or just watch him closely?

***update- I took him to urgent care today his temp wasn’t as high but he has an ear infection
