Rice cereal

Anybody feed or had fed their baby rice cereal? This one mother of a baby who is past the baby food stage asked for suggestions on how to get her 6+ month old to sleep more than 2 hrs at night. Said she woke up screaming to eat. Obviously shes hungry might need something a little bit more filling in her tummy before bed. I suggested rice cereal. Keep in mind that this baby is over 6 months. It was just a suggestion. But this woman jumped all over me about it. I live in an area where everybody feeds their babies rice cereal. Did anyone else feed theirs rice cereal?
