Bleeding after pap smear at 26 weeks

Hi ladies, this morning I had a pap smear appointment done. It wasn't painful but alot of discomfort. Doctor told me if I spotted, it should be for a few hours max and that it's normal. Fast forward to getting home I needed to use the washroom then after wiping i notice i was bleeding red more than spotting. (Like a start of a period) i just broke down crying cause i thought i was having another miscarriage but i haven't experienced any cramping and after that the blood started to fade to spotting. Just wondering if any of you ladies have experienced this after a pap smear. Would love to hear your stories. I'm kinda freaking out and thinking of the worst:(
