Baby not taking pacifier?

My baby is five weeks old and for the last three weeks we've been trying to get him take a pacifier, but every time we put it in his mouth he gags and spits it out. Does this mean he won't ever take them? I'm breastfeeding, if that matters, and we've tried the MAM 0-2 months pacifiers. I can't afford buying loads of different brands of pacifiers just to try, as they're at least 10 dollars each where I live. Just curious if I should give up or if there's still a chance he'll take them in the future? I know some babies won't take pacifiers, and wondering of maybe my baby is one of them.

I would just give up if he's refusing them.

That's one less thing you have to break them of when they're older.

I tried like 5 different brands. My baby hates all of them. Now at 4 months she’s happy with her thumb 🤷🏻‍♀️

Mine didn’t take hers for long. She’s a thumb sucker now. I go with the flow

My youngest is almost 5months and EFB and won't take one... We tried a few brands a few time but gave up... She just doesn't want one 😊 which I'm quite glad about because ei didn't want her to have one anyway

My girl didn't like them at first. She took to them later. I can't remember quite how old she was but when she started taking it again, her nb ones were too small. So somewhere between 4-6mos old. But of yours won't, you might consider just leaving it be. It's one less thing to wean them from later!

My second wouldn’t take one either. Some just won’t and that’s okay. 🙂
