How clean were you with your child for the first year of their life in regards to your home, social interactions, pets, dirt, etc.?

Not too clean maybe only when newborn. But as baby got older I was okay with messes and germs to strengthen their immune system.

I got people to wash their hand before holding my babies. Nothing else. Tried to wash their soothers when they drop them. I’m pretty relaxed. My son has been seriously ill once (at 2m) he’s 15m now and my daughter never has been (she’s 3.5)

With my first I was borderline germaphobe and I think it truly was bc I had ppd. With my second I’m sooo more relaxed and I think that’s bc I got put on an antidepressant for ppd. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Somewhere between the last 2. I’m not a germaphobe but it’s not like I would let her touch raw chicken or something. It’s important for kids to be exposed to germs. I didn’t really do any extra cleaning. I didn’t sanitize anything extra. If she wants to play in the dirt, I’ll let her play in the dirt. I think the one thing I cleaned more was my carpet (with the steam cleaner) because she spends so much time playing on the floor.

I have a cat, so despite vacuuming and dusting there will always be cat hair floating around  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I assume it’s just ensuring my baby doesn’t develop a cat allergy in the future. 
Otherwise I wash her teethers/pacifiers daily, ask guests to wash their hands before holding her, and use hand sanitizer religiously when we’re out of the house or on transit.

We started taking shoes off in the house when he started crawling and using a lot more hand sanitizer in general. So we amped up a little but but he still licks the dog occasionally or eats oats he found on the kitchen floor 🤷🏻‍♀️
