What is the calculation for a follicle size?

They basically average it out. If one follicle measured 13×15 (length & width) my doctor would say it's 14mm.

When I had my ultrasounds, the measurements were only on the screen while the ultrasound was taking place and I could see the follicles on screen. I’m having a hard time figuring out if any of those numbers are measurements, because mine looked a lot different and would say “17.7mm.” I would call your clinic and ask them and then at your next appointment, ask them to tell you as they do it. It definitely helped me to know exactly what they saw.

Not sure what that measures but I will say drs want your follicles to be 20 and up for them to be really good follicles. According to the previous comment, doesn't seem like your follicles are ready yet
