Terrible parenting?

So my mother makes it out that I'm a terrible parent bc my kid didnt learn as fast as her... Now she's drilling into me that my child who is one should be feeding himself. We've given him multiple of chances to him to try an feed himself but he just plays with his food an throws it off the table an stuff. I cant get him to use his hands or a spoon/fork..

Yeah my daughter who is 2 fed herself wonderfully with a spoon and fork at age 1. My October 2018 baby on the other hand can’t eat without gagging, never mind giving him a utensil to choke himself with! All babies are different, your mother is so ignorant to compare.

My child is 1 and doesn't feed herself if i let her do it herself, there will be food everywhere apart from her mouth. Your not a bad mother, your mother is a idiot (sorry) and doesn't have a clue, every child is different. Don't let her put you down, your doing a great job 👍

From 6 months I let my son feed himself it wasn't feeding himself for a couple weeks but basically learning and playing with the food and before 7 mo he was feeding himself everything like a pro you've got to let them get messy and feed themselves it's how they learn he's now 13 mo and pretty great with a spoon and fork although he does prefer his hands still if really hungry 😂

I feed mine with a spoon. I usually don't give him utensils. It can wait. He's not going to be on his first date and be incapable of using utensils lol. It'll be fine.

My baby only feeding himself with hands, I hand him spoon, he just want to scoop  ￼the food to the floor, not try to put in his mouth at all

Ooo that's a little harsh. No one has the right to tell you how to raise your child I'm sure we all trying to do our best. My baby doesn't eat by herself, she is trying but with no real success, so be patient and just ignore her, hopefully she will get the message and will stop talking.
