So last week was when I was supposed to take my inactive birth control pills but I decided I wanted to skip my period I’d done it before when I first started on it but it was on my doctors orders and I’d take two a day at the time. So when I take the inactive pills my period usually starts on a Thursday and continues on till Monday. So like I said I had decided I wanted to skip my period so I continued my active pills. This week on Wednesday night I noticed a steak of blood in my discharge, Thursday discharge was light pink then yesterday it was bright red and I wake up and use the restroom today and it’s as if I’m getting my period. I read about breakthrough bleeding but it said that it happens when you’re just starting on the BC I’ve been taking NORTREL for almost a year already but when I started it I started on two pills a day for like 3 months and I would have to skip the inactive ones -had to due it to a health condition that had happened. After my doctor told me to take the BC normal like one a day and take the inactives, since then (which was like in February)I’d never attempted to skip my period till now. So could this just be me breakthrough bleeding? It was supposed to come on the 6th but I skipped and continued with a new pack but got my period this week and with horrible cramps. If anyone has any help/tips or anything to help calm me down it would be highly appreciated I just want to know if this can really happen or if I need to go see my OB asap. Thank you

Ps. Don’t be rude I just want to know from someone that has knowledge/experience with this kind of situation before I jump to conclusions. Some people on here could be such assholes.
