I have a 7 year old stepson, a 6 month old and a 2 year old. My step son's mom gave him an XBOX for his birthday. We have already given him a phone, which I wasn't crazy about and my husband was going to get him a Nintendo switch for his birthday or Christmas. I honestly don't feel like an XBOX is an appropriate gift for a 7 year old. My husband doesn't agree with me and basically told me that he is trying to one up his ex wife and buy him more expensive gifts so he'll want to be at our house. He is with us M-F and his mom gets him from Frday afternoon to Sunday afternoon. He barely plays with the toys he has and since he got the phone he doesn't play with them at all. He does good in school but I feel like that's going to change once he starts playing video games. Am I overreacting? I have nothing against video games. I used to play them all the time but I just feel he is too young and needs a little more time to be a kid!
