When should doc check baby’s position?

Last I knew baby was transverse but that was my ultrasound at like 21 weeks. The doctor has never checked his position since and I’m 32 weeks now and not scheduled to go back til 36 weeks. Should I ask if/when they plan to check?

I discovered that when baby drops, the dr can feel if the baby is head down when checking your cervix. They can probably also tell when checking the heart rate in the office based on where they find the heart beat(I assume).

My OB checks at every 2 week appointment by pushing on my stomach. He’s been head down for a while. I have an ultrasound in 2 weeks to check to see if my placenta has moved from my cervix so I guess I’ll 100 know what position he’s in then.

My doc said she’d check at 37 weeks. If I’m dilated she might be able to tell if she’s feeling head or bum. If I’m not dilated or she can’t tell then we’ll do another scan to check.

My doctor has never checked after the anatomy scan. I'm not sure if all doctors do.

Mine never check unless I ask, one doc could feel the head last pregnancy and then they checked with an ultrasound at 38 weeks to be sure.

My midwives check at every appointment. My baby has been head down and LOA or OA for the last two months!

Oh wow so is there just a general assumption baby gets in the right spot? I don’t want to have a surprise c-section. Maybe I’ll just ask next appt to see if they can feel.
