Who decides if they go to daycare or not( read first)

I really just want to take the first year off to stay at home with my baby. I’ll still work from home, but I don’t want to put them in daycare that first year. My husband does because “he went to daycare”. I told him that I’ll consider it once they’re old enough to talk and tell me if they’ve ever been mistreated or anything. But he just doesn’t understand. And I came right out and told him that I am going to stay with my baby the first year, while making sure that I’m still financially helping. I don’t see what’s wrong with that.
