Why don’t people just say congratulations...

Question

Has anyone else had a miscarriage and then when you tell friends & family about being pregnant afterwards they just say ‘I hope it all works out’ , ‘fingers crossed this time’ , I find it really hard I’ve told 3 people and this is all that’s been said to me. When your trying to stay positive and battle the anxiety of everything that’s happened all you want is people to say congratulations or something positive. 
Think I might just not tell anyone else ha! 
Sorry about my rant! Just needing positive vibes!

Yes but I also think they were being cautious because they don’t know how to react. Like be happy or be conservative if you’re concerned etc. I told close friends tho and they smiled big and said yay all excited which felt good. Other friends and my parents were more like ‘ well I think it will work out this time’

Congratulations! I can definitely relate, after 5 losses some people are like fingers crossed. It was really nice the other night when I went out, I told a few people who didn’t know anything about my history and got the normal reaction most people get.

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS on your rainbow! That’s so exciting. And I definitely can relate. That happened to me at the beginning of my pregnancy when I first started telling  people too. It was mostly my coworkers who made those comments and not my close friends or family so I did the best I could to just brush it off but it still hurt and it sucks that people react differently when it’s a pregnancy after a loss. It doesn’t make the situation any easier. But know that you have all of us here for support so lean on us and we will celebrate all the joys along the way with this pregnancy with you. This is a safe place to share all of the ups and downs and you’ll definitely get better responses from us here since we are all walking in the same shoes. Best wishes for you, momma! Here’s to a happy 9 months!

Same! I think the people are excited for us, but truly nervous as well. Some people that have never personally gone through it struggle with the right words. It is exciting though! Babies are such amazing blessings!! Congratulations to you!! Will pray for a sticky bean for all of us!! ❤️🌈💕

Congratulations! ❤️ The best to you and your baby! Some people just don't know how to react. In an awkward state they just try to say something nice, but sometimes sound super silly(which i think is the most important part about anything, is that they are trying and being nice). I get where you're coming from though. 
I'm sorry for the stupid question, I just lost my baby a couple of days ago(MMC), and can I ask how long it took you to conceive again? If you don't want to answer that's absolutely fine!

I can understand that can be frustrating. I actually got very upset when an ultrasound technician told me “congratulations” on my last pregnancy (after my first miscarriage). I remember thinking that she doesn’t know what the future holds. Turns out I also lost that baby and for some weird reason I hold onto resentment of that “congratulations.”  It’s silly, I know. On my current pregnancy I won’t even let people acknowledge that this may come to full term. Point is - we are all entitled to how we feel and if you want a congratulations let your friends know.  They will generate take your lead.

Why don’t people just say congratulations...
