Would it be rude?

So my husband and I have around 30 people in our family that would like us to let them know when we go into labor, we live in another state from them. Would it be rude to just send out a group text letting everyone know we are going in and just asking them to text us outside the group text if they need to so that no ones phones blow up? We plan to call our parents but feel like we won’t have time/we’ll be to busy concentrating on the baby and myself to be able to contact everyone.
