Timed intercourse

We are going to a second fertility doctor because the 1st one was just too far to have to keep driving for all the testing with the work I do... My appointment is on Monday. I'll be CD 3 or 4. What is the deal with timed intercourse? Can they do an injection to make sure that you ovulate so you know exactly when you're supposed to be actively trying? We've had 2 successful pregnancies, 1 resorbed twin, and 1 MC in that order. Hubs has low T low semen, currently on clomid, increasing his dose today. Clomid for males helps with testosterone and semen. The idea of IVF overwhelms me a little bit, but our original RE felt IUI was not a good option for us due to our age. Original RE also wanted to do a hysteroscopy, which i felt was big step bc i don't have fibroids or any history of issues. I had a CS with my first so i know i have no uterine abnormalities from surgical report. I dont want to be a PITA patient, but I don't want to have an unnecessary anesthesia procedure if they can see if I have eggs via US.... can they?

Anyone successful with male Infertility and timing intercourse with MD help?
