PCOS/Abnormal Bleeding

I have been diagnosed with PCOS and have been dealing with the symptoms for the past 10+ years. However, as of more recently has it gotten 1000 times worse. I have been bleeding every single day since June. If I take birth control, it regulates it to an extent but the weeks I have my period. I have insane bleeding and cramping to the point that I bleed through a super tampon every hour so that is not an option. My dr recently prescribed me NORETHINDRONE to take every day. That started on 11/2. I’m still bleeding, nothing has changed. I told my dr on 11/12 of this so I was told to double my dosage until bleeding stops. Still hasn’t stopped. To be completely 100% honest, I just want a hysterectomy. I know that will 100% take care of the issue. Is it possible to ask for this and be taken seriously? This is seriously ruining my life. I’m depressed, I cry every day, I never know how my period is going to be.. sometimes it comes on super heavy and I don’t know until it’s too late. I’ve had to leave public functions cuz of this. I just don’t want to deal with it any more. My dr has ordered a sonohysterogram.... what that is going to prove, I don’t know. I know I have a thick uterine lining, I have for a long time. Has anyone else ever dealt with this kind of thing? I am afraid to tell my dr I want a hysterectomy but I’m at my wits end...
